Tips / Preventions
Some easy tricks for you to practice, in order to keep your bags well-loved.
Colour Fading
- Try to keep your bags away from excessive, direct sunlight.
- Do not keep your bags in wardrobe for a long time without airing it once in a while - oxidation takes place faster on bags in stagnant environment.
- Never store your bags in a dust-bag, as they are made presentable from boutiques and they aren't that friendly to your beloved leather bag in the long run. Colorful dust bag might cause color transfer to your lovely bag due to mishandling and oxidation takes place faster in the air-tight dust-bag. Try a colorless white pillow case instead.
Soiling & Stains
- BE CAREFUL. It doesn't take brains like Einstein to know that you shouldn't be leaving a $3,000 bag lying around just anywhere!
- BE FASHION-AWARE. White, or untreated leather bag plus blue denim jeans? You're asking for trouble, my darling. Trust us - you do not want to be seen in that get-up, back to your wardrobe.
Dry Leather
- What do you do to keep your skin pumped with hydration? You drink plenty of fluids and use moisturisers. Don't ever try to feed your bag water, it doesn't help at all.
- Bags are made out of delicate leather so never apply your body moisturizer on it - use a moisturizer that suits your leather type instead. REGULARLY!
Dirty Bag Handles
- Step One: Wash your hands, keep them clean.
- Step Two: Clean your bag handles with a Leather Cleanser at least once every fortnight.
- Step Three: Try to prevent holding your bag with your hand moisturizer on. It works on your hand but not on the bag!
Funky Smells (that are unwelcome)
Do not store your bags in a dark and moist cupboard, as mushrooms could be growing in there. Always wipe down a bag that has been exposed to rain, or liquid of any kind, for that matter. And finally, use anti-bacteria cleanser on your bag's surfaces regularly.
Water/ Liquid Stains
- First Stop: Send your bag in for a deep-cleaning, and restoration if necessary, to bring it back to normal.
- Second & Ongoing Stops: Invest in a water repellent.
General Care
Love your bags.
